What is a learning center?
A learning center is a facility that accommodates learners who are homeschooled. A learning center offers classes for different subjects and different grades.
All our CIS branches offer classes from Grade R to grade 12 and all subjects.
We have a set roster that determines which subjects need to be done at a certain time.
Max fourteen learners per class
Our number one priority is your child’s education.
We assist with basic emotional, social and educational needs.
Curriculum
A parent is responsible to choose a curriculum for their child. We assist in the process as it can be very overwhelming.
Currently, the most popular curriculum providers are Impaq and GED
Fees for the curriculum provider are excluded from the center’s monthly fees.
A curriculum provider provides learning material and tasks/tests for assessment time. A curriculum provider will also provide reports to determine whether a child has passed or not.
Hours
Our classes run between 08:00 and 14:00, Monday to Thursday, and till 13:00 on Friday.
During school holidays we do not offer classes.
Aftercare & Extra lessons
All our branches offer aftercare and extra lessons at additional costs
Please contact your branch manager to find out the costs
Sports
A learning center doesn’t offer sports but we do encourage learners to do sports or extra mural activities
*Excluding curriculum fee.
The curriculum fee is different for all grades and depends on which curriculum you choose. Our main provider is Impaq.
Chosen Independent Studies, a learning center based in South Africa, has been running since 2016.
